Respite care

The project offers our young people residential holidays normally 4 times a year. These are usually in the UK, but earlier this year we took a number of young people to Spain. These residential holidays give our young people the opportunity to experience different aspects of life in a relaxed atmosphere. They can experience the outdoor at Center Parcs, or a turkey and tinsel Christmas party in Cornwall.

But these residential holidays also give parents/carers the opportunity to have a break themselves. A chance to have some time together, to book a holiday together probably for the first time in a long time. We are also putting together a data base of staff that will be prepared to give respite help at other times, maybe at a weekend, or at night time. In the future Direct payments and Personal Centered Packages for young people will be offered by social services, self directed support with your own individual budget!
